I like how Dell has all this data, and still somehow believe that AI will help sell Windows 11, and also seem to think that Apple’s affordable products are the only alternative option for those holding out on updating to windows 11.
Oh wait, look at this headline from 3 weeks ago, “Microsoft signs $9.7 billion cloud deal with IREN as AI demand swells”.
AI-server maker Dell was also up about 1%, as it would provide IREN with Nvidia’s GB300 chips and other equipment that Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab will use for about $5.8 billion.
Oh wait, they only care about their corporate customers, what’s new? Water is wet?

welp, I caved and started letting my kid play roblox, where I would check in every now and then to make sure they weren’t chatting and just playing games.
But I might just roll back on this, and let other parents know what’s up too. Some parents are completely out of the loop with anything tech related, even in this day and age.

I mean, they need us! Why the fuck are we all putting up with their shit???
Because, many people are stupid, and will put up with shit because they only care about the game, and nothing else.
But I do agree, the industry would benefit from a more informed audience, but who are we kidding, name a single industry of media where the lowest common denominator isn’t the mass majority of it’s consumers.

has anyone seen proof from the discord server in question that the 200 or so people who were fired, out of the 500+ members of the discord server were specifically talking about forming a union, or did they just fire a bunch of people incidentally?
I think Rockstar is just too big to fail, at this point. Not saying they aren’t capable of anything shady or unjust, but where’s the proof of anything, and how many people are really going to boycott a game that will likely break records in the gaming industry save for some catastrophic world event, like another pandemic or world war?

just like music bands, if the group doesn’t have the passion and grit to live poorly while grinding at work, the edgy, experimental stuff gets pushed aside because the market for it is just inherently smaller than say, the next Final Fantasy remake or Persona.
But with the internet and social media, the indie scene is the place to be for edgy, artistic, unique games right now as well, so in a way, the scene is migrating “underground”.

thing is, not even protondb is reliable. There’s been many times I’ve tried running a game, and encountered an error not posted anywhere, nor protondb, reddit or steam forums. All the comments on protondb will say, “works great out of the box!”, and I’m just left digging through random forums at that point.
okay, I did pull that number out of my ass, but my point still stands, Nintendo will not learn their lesson by a few thousand people on the internet claiming to boycott them. I guess it would take maybe a million lost customers, but I doubt that will ever happen because the bulk of Nintendo sales go to people who only care about the games, not the company.
boycotts can totally be effective.
But even if a million of their customers fell off the face of the earth tomorrow, nothing would change. Nintendo is too successful for their own good. I’ll never buy a Nintendo product, but let’s not fool ourselves thinking a small group of people on the internet has anything on the largest video game company in Japan.

At the very least, you can still pirate it and play cracked multiplayer with friends.
I made the mistake of buying the game year ago, and bought a bunch of DLC at 50% or greater sales, and now the sunken cost fallacy has taken hold on me, and I still want to buy more . . . . (at least I’m broke so I can’t right now hehehaha)
giving AI the power to do things on your PC will lead to cases like:
