As someone who bought it at launch, I give them credit for it. Hats off to them…
Still am never buying Hello Games games, or anything by Sean Murray, ever again.
$60 for an early access tech demo where they lied about dozens of features. It is still missing promised features after all of their work - which speaks more to the amount of bullshit they spew than the feature set because the features checklist is as shallow as a puddle.

I would argue Expedition 33 is a lot closer to Legend of Dragoon released 26 years ago. Its claim to fame was the active turn based system pulled right out of that game.
Metroidvanias standard was set 28 years ago in SOTN. It has n
That crazy now that you think about it.
I would not put Balatro in the same category. While it isn’t mind blowing. Nobody put the pieces together in the same way that Balatro did. I would still call it innovative.

No Man’s Sky was an indie released at AAA prices and was a pile of dog shit. Feel like there are other games you could’ve picked…
It was another example of what is wrong with the industry today. It never should have been released in the state that it did. And despite Hello Games extensive efforts - we are still missing features that Sean, on record, stated would be in the game at launch.
As someone who has spent far more hours with a trackball, and has been using them for over 2 decades. They are fantastic. Great for avoiding RSI. Best mouse you can use outside of a standard desk environment including standing, or at a couch.
But they aren’t good for FPS games.
I just use a controller and I don’t play competitively.
Feel like you’d have a better time buying a console IF you ONLY wanted a controller AND you wanted to only play competitive PVP games. Neither trackball nor controller can compete without some kind of aim assist.

As someone who experienced nausea. I’ve tried all kinds of tricks. They all help, just like Dramamine or those bands with the beads that 1/10 pain.
It took quite a while to get over the nausea. A lot of starting and stopping with slightly longer sessions each time.
I fully expect that most people would not be willing to do that but I received the system as a gift and I really liked it. I wish they had more longer games. I’m so tired of the games that are 30s of concept and then do it over-and-over.

Just want to add an hour in VR is a LOT longer than 1 hour of flat screen gaming. If you haven’t used VR then they aren’t as comparable as you think.
You’re usually on your feet, holding your arms up high, waving them around ,likely squatting - a lot and you’ve got a screen blaring into your eyes with constant high intensity stimulation.
Most people won’t do 1 hour sessions on the regular, forget a 3-4 hour session without being put down to charge for while you take a break.

I would not recommend it if you have access to another gaming rig.
It’s a beautiful game but it looks like a ps1 game on the Deck. You’ll really miss out on a lot of details.
It is “playable” but one of the key features of the turn based combat system is that you can Parry, Dodge, And Jump when it’s the enemies turn. You’re not going to do that very well at the <20 fps on the deck.
Even on my desktop, I didn’t get decent at the combat system until I turned the GFX to medium to get over 60 regularly
And how is this going to happen when nobody has any money?
