I used to play growtopia as a kid (don’t play it now, it went downhill lol), and I’ve seen a ton of scams/griefs among my friend circle, people would work for ages to gain someone’s trust and then either steal via picking up dropped items, not returning borrowed items, ooor… if you gave them access to your world they’d log in when you’re offline and literally tear the whole thing down to bedrock, even valueless blocks

Just played through Doom: Eternal cause it was on sale for 4€ a bit back. The entire time I was wishing I was playing Doom 2016…

“There are no microtransactions in pvz replanted, at launch. Can’t say a week after that, when the execs decide we aren’t milking gamer enough” - full quote probably

Recoil is fun :3… it was one of the reasons I switched to using the bumper keys for aim/shoot, instead of the triggers lol

spoiler

I just got to the hex quest :3. haven’t done it yet tho

Currently I’d say minecraft, witcher 3, and… warframe probably :3

In no particular order

Minecraft feels a lot more polished, it has more content, and more players meaning higher chance of your friends being on there, and minetest is… free :3 so if you have minecraft or considering getting it you’re not losing anything by also trying the latter. I think the project is neat, but it was not something I could stick with for a long time

Welp cracks knuckles warframe has been mentioned so looks like it’s time to put ridiculous hours into it again

I mean… I wouldn’t watch a playthrough side by side while playing, but watching a playthrough of a game up to the point I played to after im done playing for the day is a pretty common thing for me :3

It’s a different experience but I enjoy both

True :3

I just said game to stay on topic tbh

Individual devs seem to generally manage better I think :3. It’s once the companies expand is that stuff starts going awry

It’s a canon event for any game company that achieves moderate success

True :3 nobody is perfect I suppose /j

Hitler was great at dealing with fascists to be fair, he’s the guy that killed Hitler and all /j

Yeah :3. The steam deck layout honestly looks really good, and if valve does release a controller featuring everything it has it’s probably gonna be a buy from me

At the moment most of the controllers on the market would require either giving up the features my current one has, shelling out hundreds of euros for a couple of extra buttons, or literally getting the same deal, a steam deck style controller would offer quite a bit more and it would hopefully be more reasonably priced than the “pro” controllers

I love the touchpad as an auxiliary input, and in that regard it does a lot more than a d-pad, but for any games where you want it as a primary input it wasn’t optimal, yeah… currently I use a ds4 controller and having a touchbar on that is great with steam input tho, cause it can just do so much (looks at my 500 minecraft mods with all the keybinds), it can be annoying sometimes accidentally hitting the sticks cause of how it’s positioned tho (and also no paddles) so it would still be cool to see a steam deck type variant controller featuring the touchpads and all the other inputs you’d expect :3

The steam controller wasn’t for me (the lack of a 2nd stick and a d-pad to a lesser extent were dealbreakers for me), but I do hope valve releases a standalone steamdeck style controller :3 we had those leaks and whatnot a while back, and it certainly has everything I’d want

Companies would still be cutting flour with chalk if they had their way. “It’s limiting blah blah blah” that’s the point you corpos, consumer rights are about the consumer not the bottom line

Dialogue is soo slow… there’s like… 2 minutes of actual content there… and what’s with the subway surfers intermission? x3 it’s not even centered to the middle of the screen either

Crafting doesn’t actually require remembering anything since they added the recipe book. Also on peaceful you don’t go hungry, so no farming for food :p

I mean… I taught people how to play video games with minecraft, and it’s not that hard… the only way I see this failing is if you plan on doing nothing to help learn the game and you just want something to boot up and leave your partner to figure it out

I don’t think it’s that complex? I mean… most of it is just wasd + space, and the 2 mouse buttons which I’d consider to just be the basic controls for any game really, short of just walking simulators that require no mouse clicks, or VNs that require no keyboard

Oh and minecraft if you own that :3

That’s also pretty simple controls wise… just play on peaceful to start

Edit:

Oh maybe something like stardew valley too, though that does have combat in the mines which may be a challenge :3

I suddenly remembered all the games only after making my first comment hah x3

I was gonna say portal but you already had that idea hah

The other option is start her off with dark souls and tell her it’s one of the easy games, to really test the strength of your relationship /j

I have a dualshock 4 that I use wired x3… honestly atm im just kinda waiting to see if a steam controller 2 comes out cause most of the controllers I saw on the market were lacking a decent bit of features, or basically the same as I have for double the price tho

I lucked out living in a place with a completely logical numbering system thankfully :3… even english is slightly weird with 11 and 12 not following the -teen pattern (guessing a holdover for using dozens/base12)

Yeah, they’re quite similar, on one I can play online for free, get tons of indies and demos, play with any controller I want, as well as have access to a bunch of non-gaming features, and on the other… I have to buy giftcards to use the online store because despite the fact that the console is sold here there’s no option to register psn in the country, which means it won’t take my card

Almost unnoticeable :3 /s

Stardew valley with the mouse move mod /hj

Or bloons tower defence :3… I’ve gotten a lot of gaming hours out of btd5

Unfortunately nintendo lawyers are already on their way to send a cease and desist to OP for using their name in a lemmy post :(

I just left all the stuff as it was :p… I have 1 account I use for everything. In terms of needing a password to install software, I suppose it depends on what im installing
