Fuck the AI companies buying up all of the RAM. Maybe its time to get a new GPU for my wife while they are still somewhat affordable.

That’s unfortunate. I played the BF6 beta on my Windows partition and had fun, but I won’t support a developer who actively blocks my platform of choice.

With Medieval 3 announced recently as well, I wonder which one we are getting first.

This will also be quite a bit different from the previous entries with the board being a galaxy instead of a region on a map. I’m excited, yet cautious after the release and recent handling of TWWH3.

I really enjoyed Ace Combat 7. Looking forward to this.

I did too. I was just missing billions of dollars.

This could screw over some smaller board partners. They might not have the deals in place to secure the RAM chips they need.

Standardized design, sure. I would argue you could get something more powerful at a comparable size for not too much more. My HTPC is about the size of a shoe box yet has a R7 7700X and a RX 6900 XT.

The biggest advantages it has over other PCs is CEC and Wake on USB(controller) enabled out of the box. Those are the two features I miss the most on my HTPC.

So release GTA6 on PC at the same time as console? The ability to play the game a year or so earlier is part of the reason people still have a console.

I don’t think its necessarily how much he pays his employees. The larger issue is that the tax rate at the top isn’t high enough.

I think the underpaying would be not having nearly as many employees as similar sized companies. They could have several divisions producing games while also developing their hardware and software. He has been happy to make changes at a slower pace while their store keeps taking large cuts of each sale.

I picked up the title. Haven’t gotten a chance to play too much, but it feels much more noon friendly. Automations let you focus more on the parts of the game you want. The tutorial happens during a regular game instead of a separate mode. Performance has also been great on my machine.

Having a first party emulator for older Xbox systems would actually be huge. Even the best Xbox emulator, Xemu, still has issues with some titles. With full access to the original source code, they should be able to produce something better than what is available on other platforms.

Fortunately those are a minority of games. Most games now are working with Wine/Proton out of the box. Multiplayer games are the only thing I ever look at compatibility lists for.

Some games get patched to break compatibility, usually with anti-cheat. Apex Legends and Battlefield 1 are examples of that.

AAA has gotten too risk adverse. They can’t have a flop, they only want big hits. Its why they keep pushing micro transactions as it let’s a single title bring in more and more money. Its also the reason a lot of AA studios are starting to get the biggest hits. They are willing to take a risk to create something truely amazing.

They are asking the impossible. If they refuse to take any risks on new titles they will not have breakout hits like they are wanting. They have enough studios that you can have some stinker releases that get offset by the surprise hits.

I haven’t subbed to gamepads for years because I knew this would eventually happen. Gamepass was designed to get people used to not purchasing games and instead letting them come to them. Subscribers now have to chose between paying even more each month or losing access to the library of games available to them.

The Battlefield community doesn’t want that kind of movement in their game. If people want to play a shooter with that kind of movement, they can just stick with CoD.

Not too surprised. They have really improved their controller support over the last few years. I am able to play the game without issue with my HTPC using a controller.

It would be nice if we had both options. Let people matchmake for the default experience and let those that prefer custom servers to use those instead. There are problems with using only community hosted servers, such as game rules and less ideal admins.

That being said, the longevity that community servers offer is likely the reason they have been scrapped by EA. They want everyone to move to the next title that comes out like what people do with CoD.

EDIT: Typos from mobile

How many games have even hit that number? Only Minecraft, Roblox, and Fortnite have likely hit those kind of numbers.

Probably should have been default on for 3 years now. Proton has been very good for a while.

Apple doesn’t care about maintaining compatibility. Look at their previous changes such as PowerPC to x86 and forcing 64-bit only applications.

Valve certainly has the luxury of being able to eat the costs of tariffs to sell more steam decks. They will make the money back from Steam, when the hardware only manufacturers have no reason to sell at a loss.

Some people use categories in their steam library, but it would be nice to have something else to track it all.

Epic Games store isn’t the only way you can download software on Windows, so it’s not really a fair comparisons.

A healthy iOS app economy relies on competing app stores.

Unfortunately for Apple, right now gaming on Linux is a better experience than gaming on Mac, which is really saying something. One has to wonder why Apple doesn’t take a page from Valve’s book and develop a compatibility layer for macOS like Valve’s Proton platform, which has brought hundreds of Windows games to Linux.

I guess PC Gamer hasn’t heard of Crossover or Whisky, both of which bring that functionality to Mac.

I think one of the largest issues with Mac gaming is the cost is higher if you only care about gaming. Why would you spend more to play on Mac when you could get the same performance for much cheaper. Right now the only market is single computer users that chose Mac first for other reasons that do not have a console for gaming.

I agree. You hit all of the points that I felt the game fell short.

The castle was beautiful, but we didn’t spend rough time in it. Much of the open world felt like filler and it just wasn’t as enjoyable to be in.

The combat felt out of place in this game. Having a student running around killing people should not have been as normalized as it was. I think a focus on more non combat magic would have worked better. Some combat would be OK, but it should have been far rarer.

Unfortunate. It still doesn’t change the fact that Billy Mitchell is a huge loser.

Kind of crazy how long it has taken them to get this feature when SteamOS and the likes have had it for at least 3 years at this point.

Those just give me more battery life, which I don’t have issues with currently.

Qi2 gives me more options in the way that I use my phone.

Qi2 is the only feature out there that would entice me to buy a new phone at this time.
