Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios has revealed Divinity, which it is calling its "biggest game ever," and it puts to rest the mystery of what the statue was for in the desert. You can get a first look at the upcoming game, but be warned, it is a very brutal first look.

Man this trailer fucking THREW me. At first I thought the man that was chained and the celebration were separate, then was like ‘oh! Classic pagan wicker man, cool’ then the dudes fucking back burst open and oh my fucking god I’m def on board

This teaser was damn intense at the game awards. I was very much like “what is even going on” and feeling pretty uncomfy. Incredibly gruesome, gorey and explicit.

And then it showed “Larian Studios” and I understood. What a reveal!

I love Larian so much. Fell in love when DOS came out and have will support any game they make as long as they keep doing what they’re doing. Literally the only studio I will buy a game full price from. Their practices and game quality is something the gaming industry needs more than anything else.

Was hoping for some sci-fi by them.

That’s uh… interesting? I bet it wasn’t written in Godot.

What… What do you even mean by that? This is a cinematic trailer.

If anything, it would’ve been done in Blender. Which absolutely could have pulled this off.

For their games, Larian has previously used fully in-house engines. We don’t know anything about what they’re using for this one.
